Couples & adult stays

Best adults-only stays in Rarotonga

Clear age policies, different parts of the island and the kind of adult holiday each property suits.

Our rule for this guide

We only want to call a stay 'adults-only' when the current supplier policy is clear. That matters because age cut-offs vary — 16+ and 18+ are both common — and some properties use adult-focused marketing while allowing older children or teens.

Little Polynesian Resort — 18+ Titikaveka

Little Polynesian currently welcomes guests aged 18 and over. It is a small boutique resort on Titikaveka Beach with beachfront bungalows, garden studios, infinity pool and onsite restaurant.

Best for: honeymooners and couples who want a quieter south-coast base.

Muri Beach Club Hotel — 18+ in Muri

Muri Beach Club Hotel's current website says its 30-room hotel is reserved for guests 18 years and over. The main advantage is adults-only accommodation without giving up Muri's restaurants, lagoon and activity convenience.

Best for: adults who want the Muri location rather than complete seclusion.

Manuia Beach Resort — 16+ sunset coast

Manuia's current official site says it is an adults-only resort for guests 16 years and above. It sits on the western sunset coast with beachfront suites, pool and On the Beach Restaurant and Bar.

Best for: couples who value sunset-coast atmosphere and resort dining.

Aro'a Beachside Resort — 16+ and self-contained

Aro'a's current terms say it is adults-only 16+. Its 12 self-contained units sit on the western beach/lagoon side, with tropical breakfast and Shipwreck Hut onsite.

Best for: independent travellers wanting a smaller, self-contained west-side stay.

Sanctuary Rarotonga — adults-only beside Aroa

Sanctuary Rarotonga currently markets itself explicitly as adults-only and sits beside its sister resort The Rarotongan at Aroa. Guests also have access to facilities at the neighbouring resort.

Why Te Vakaroa is not in the clear-age shortlist yet

Te Vakaroa's homepage currently calls the property adults-only, but its current rates page says it has a no children under 12 policy and permits an extra person/child over 12 in a two-bedroom villa. Until the property confirms the intended policy directly, we would describe it as an adult-focused boutique stay rather than place it in a strict age-filtered list.
